Relaunching Cferthorney.com
I have finally gotten around to relaunching my personal website, here on https://www.cferthorney.com. I have also migrated my previous personal blog posts from my old personal website, now business site https://www.davidthorne.net. The old articles can be found at https://www.cferthorney.com/archive, and new blog posts such as this one are https://www.cferthorney.com/posts.
I am not going to promise to blog often. I keep saying I will, and it never happens. Blog articles are likely to focus on more personal aspects and non-business related tech posts. PHP and Drupal-related posts are probably going to appear on https://www.davidthorne.net as that is my specialist area with work.
I am debating about relaunching cferthorney “The brand” too. Ideas for this include doing micro-podcasts on interesting tech pieces, although I suspect I am unlikely to find the time to do these.
For those who are interested, the new website uses Hugo. Hugo is a flat-file CMS (Content management system) written in Go. At the moment I am using a theme that I found on the internet called Beautiful Hugo. Longer term I would like to build my own, but this will definitely do for now. I’m still hosting my site on a Linode Virtual machine, which also hosts my business site. More on my current setup in a follow-up blog post. I also intend to write more on my Cystic Fibrosis, as I feel that the time has come for me to put some effort into awareness surrounding the illness.
