Site update - the update!

No excuse, no excuses. This is more of an explanation and apology than an excuse (Although I am sure there are some who see them as something highly similar!)

The update of davidthorne.net has been delayed. I’ve finally commissioned a designer, and we’re going to be working on the new design by January (The delay is mine, I was in hospital over late October and half of November). The content reorganisation is mapped out (As soon as I work out a good way to share it I will, I intend to open source as much of the process I use as possible), the code I want to write for displaying my CV [github.com] has been designed, and is partially written (In Drupal at least, I intend to write it in several frameworks to help others)

I have so many plans for my new site. I am hoping to work on building a nice technical resource on PHP, concentrating on Drupal [Drupal.org], Laravel [Laravel.com] and Symfony 3 [Symfony.com], Devops etc, As well as some “new” sections on mental health (Mostly surrounding depression, imposter syndrome etc), maybe some reviews of tech that I have purchased/used a lot. I may well cross post these on medium when I finally get around to finish converting Medium_publish [Drupal.org] to Drupal 8.

I’m also considering a second blog on other outside interests such as my Cystic Fibrosis, as it is becoming more and more of my primary focus both in terms of treatment burden (Now 2 - 3 hours each morning before I can leave work, though not as bad as some of my CF friends). I don’t think the 2 audiences are likely to want to read the other, and it isn’t particularly good for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation, the process of being found on Google. Also known as “Magic”). So despite my current mental health position (Shaky from a depression perspective, but better than I have been in a while); despite it being nearly winter again, my worst time of year, I have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to. I hope to express at least part of it through the new David Thorne.ne.t

Thoughts on what I’d like to publish appreciated. What would you like to see here? What would you prefer I left out, or published separately elsewhere?
